        Housing is typically the largest expense category for most US households, with transportation second.
        Transportation costs are highly dependent on housing location and available transportation choices.

        Housing affordability in Greensboro is 5% better than the national average, but transportation affordability
        lags behind the national average by 9%. Housing and transportation affordability rates are relatively similar for
        the top ten cities in North Carolina, with Raleigh and Durham experiencing the greatest combined
        affordability.
