DVMT divided by the population produces a per capita figure, which gives a clearer picture of how the number
of daily miles traveled changes over the years. Population and DVMT data is available for years 2006 through
2016. Lower DVMT per capita is associated with a compact community with a variety of transportation and
land use choices that result in short trip lengths.
